Our Services
Families First Speech Pathology is a part time mobile practice with all services offered in the home, community or through telehealth appointments.
Our services are aimed at providing therapy and support for:
- Early Childhood (0 to 6 year olds)
- School aged (7 to 12 year olds)
- Teenagers (13 to 17 year olds)
At Families First, we place your family at the centre of how we provide our therapy services.
Through hands on therapy sessions, we perform comprehensive routine assessments of your child’s specific strengths and areas of challenge across their communication domains to plan functional therapy goals specific for your child and your family and provide support in meeting those goals.
We want therapy to progress after your session ends so we provide education and parental coaching to upskill parents in supporting their child to their therapy goals.
Kaysie, our Speech Pathologist, is also trained in PROMPT therapy , the HANEN It Takes Two to Talk program, and Ross Greene’s introductory level of Collaborative and Proactive Solutions.

Our Prices
We provide services to all privately paying clients and also have capacity to see clients with NDIS plans who have their Capacity Building Budgets “self-managed” or “plan-managed”.
Our prices are the same if you are paying privately or with an NDIS plan.
Assessments
When you book your initial assessment with Families First, Kaysie will recommend which is the most suitable assessment session. If you have recently completed a speech pathology assessment else where (within 2 to 3 months) please discuss this with us to negotiate the cost of a review appointment.
Assessment with Summary – $290.98 (excluding travel)
1 hour session with 30 minutes indirect time for summary letter.
Assessment with Detailed Report – $387.98 (excluding travel)
1 hour session with 60 minutes indirect time for detailed report.
Language Development Centre Assessment – $550 (excluding travel)
This includes the assessments required for a LDC application from a speech pathologist, along with the completion of the speech pathologist sections of the application forms. This may be completed over 2 or 3 appointments.
Therapy Services
Individual Speech Pathology consultation
Hourly rate is $193.99
Standard Session – 45 minutes direct session with 20 minutes indirect time – $210.09
Travel to community
Travel is charged to and from the appointment at a rate of $1.616 per minute ($97 per hour). Travel is only charged when delivering face-to-face support.
You may be eligible for a reduction in travel costs depending on scheduling, please discuss this with us.
Report writing and Resource creation
$193.99 per hour (or part there of).
Nurturing Neurodiversity Caregiver Groups
This program is specifically designed to empower caregivers and families who have discovered that their child is autistic. Whether you’re new to the therapy journey, seeking a deeper understanding of neurodiversity, or simply want to connect with other caregivers, this group is for you! Dates and locations determined throughout the year – please email us to register your interest.
Face to Face group – Next occurring early 2025.
Autistic Acceptance Art Club
A small art club for Autistic youth aged between 10 to 13 during the January 2025 school holidays. Learn more and register here.
